Not far from Stott Hall Farm can be seen one of the most impressive engineering feats on the M62 – Scammonden Bridge. The Bridge spans the Deanhead cutting carrying the B6114 road over the motorway. It can be found in Kirkless, West Yorkshire. The bridge is named after the village that was flooded to accommodate the Scammonden reservoir.
On opening, the bridge was the longest single-span non-suspension bridge in the world, and is the longest arch bridge in the UK.
